Save the humans, kill the rabbits
Quick background: I work for an animal sanctuary. A local news affiliate ran a piece on the practice of using live lures in an event called open field coursing. My boss contacted several local papers to get the story covered in print, considering this happened literally a mile from the sanctuary. Most people called in response to this article and most calls have been in support of banning the live lure practice.
But not everyone feels open field coursing live rabbits is wrong. So, I received the best message EVAR on the sanctuary phone line!
Dogs killing jack rabbits is a natural order of things. Next thing you know, mountain lions won’t be allowed to kill deer. Uh, bear won’t be able to kill animals either, to eat or whatever.
OMG! Bears won't be able to do "whatever" to animals! The horrors! I mean, is that statement supposed to be evidence of rational thinking? Hate to break it to this guy, but a pampered pet ripping apart a rabbit for entertainment is quite different from a starving mountain lion who eats to, ya know, survive. What a concept.
The dogs are released to kill these rabbits and keep ‘em down, the population down b/c they breed like rabbits. Okay, now when that happens, fleas are attracted to the area, much disease is handled in the area to my livestock.
And only rabbits have fleas. Mice and rats, more populous than wild hares, don't have fleas. And they aren't attracted to grain storage facilities. Only rabbits. Damn rabbits and their fleas "handling" disease.
Okay now this is un-, this is, this is just no good. Dogs love doing it. Go out there and kill it. You know.
Um, this has gotta be the stupidest article I’ve ever seen in my life. Uh, for you protestors it’s just ridiculous. I mean, you really, you really need to get your head checked
But this is my opinion. My name is Tim Hillstrom. And um, I am a rancher. And I was in shock when I read this. This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen. So, please, you know, get out of the same sex-relationship you’re in and get a man or something, whatever it takes. Get a brain or a head on your shoulders, ma’am. It would really be a good idea. Cuz this is just too much.
Because only gay people would find coursing rabbits offensive. And all this little problem of live lure coursing needs is for people to have sex (heterosexual sex, of course) and all will be well. Further, people just need to find their decapitated heads and the world will be a better place.
We gonna sacrifice humans for the rights of a rabbit? Stuff like that, that’s just ridiculous. Please educate yourself more. You can’t really say you represent education for animals when you put something like this out, and I’m referring to dogs killing jackrabbits through a protest by a report in today Thursday Vacaville reporter Feb. 9. So, you have a good day.
Why yes, yes let's sacrifice humans for the rights of a rabbit. We'll kill virgins so they don't have the opportunity to engage in any of the same-sex nonsense mentioned earlier. Then, after the sacrifice, we will convene and discuss the rights of a rabbit. The rabbits probably won't attend, due to the fact they have more important shit to do, like eat food and get down to rabbit sex.
Also, I will work on the education program for animals here. Clearly, the rabbits are not paying enough attention to the lesson plans I developed. The dogs aren't either, the stupid mutts!
