weekend of productivity and beer

May 14, 2007 11:28

I somehow managed to go out both Friday and Saturday nights and still be totally productive with my weekend.

Friday I ate my last of St Nick's food for the year. I am sad to lose the yumminess, but glad that I won't be tempted to eat so many bad for me things every day. I am seriously unable to resist the delicious fattening greek foods, of which I think the old ladies at St Nick's make the best. Mark this as the only time when I care about Easter.

Went out and had a few quiet beers at Halcyon before Brian fell asleep on the table.

Saturday I spent the entirety of the day in the yard. I weeded, I cut down a dead tree, I dug up lots of earth, tilled my garden plot (which ended up getting successively smaller in scale the more blisters I developed), planted some flowers, started my mint and eggplant seeds inside, dumped compost and top soil, tilled some more... It was an awesomely productive day, but I am still sore all over from it. Thankfully, I have Core class today which will make sure that I am uniformly sore by tomorrow.

Went out to Gooski's Saturday night for a good time and more beers.

Sunday was Twin Peaks and then I washed the car and my scooter. (Brian is so opposed to cleanliness that he rejected my offer to wash his scooter as well.) After that I called every member of my family on the phone, as I owed them all phone calls.

I have nothing interesting on tap for this week. Next week and the week after are only three-day work weeks for me, though, so I'm getting psyched for that. My sister and her family are visiting for a day next week and I'll get to finally meet my little nephew. He was totally talking to me on the phone last night. Well, ok, he was just whining for his mom's attention while she was on the phone with me, but that's close. Now I just have to decide if he gets this as a present.

I will be sure to get lots of photos of me holding a baby, as it will probably be your only chance to see that happen. Plus, we're going to the zoo! That will be fun!
