The Gorey Legacy Part 16

Sep 13, 2009 10:13

Updates a mere week or so apart? How is this possible? ;D

When we last left the Goreys, Friedrich's wife Naenae had just died. Also, their house had just started glitching and being impossible to load. So, they loaded up all their rare items (gravestones, heir portraits, aspiration rewards) and moved to Beverly, Hills that is. No wait, that's the Beverly Hillbillies. These guys just moved across town in Veronaville, into a new house I built for them.

Everyone milling about in front of the new place, which is much taller than the old one.

The back side of the house. I unfortunately chose a lot with a lot of hills on it. Oops.

The twins, Dawbis and Snedleigh, in the new kitchen.

Embley and Epergne in the new downstairs bathroom. Oh yes, Epergne is pregnant. It was all that woo-hoo after Naenae's death. Also, an attempt to see if Friedrich's skintone will pass on.

Friedrich is adjusting well to the new house. It's nice to see him smile again.

Hobart finally loses his pudge, since I force him to work out all the time.

Friedrich is inappropriate with the welcoming crew. You just met that woman!

Now, Rampant House Spam will ensue!

The formal living room.

The entryway has a stuffed bear in it, because it's very Addams-esque to have taxidermy in your entryway.

Formal dining off the entryway.

The view from the front doors- it's a general space, usually used for dancing.

The modern and light colored kitchen. Yes, not very goth. But I liked the blue.

The downstairs bathroom, with bonus Snedleigh.

Upstairs hallway, with heir portrait wall of fame.

Epergne and Hobart's bedroom. Obviously, the furniture reflects Epergne's bordello-fabulous taste.

Friedrich's bedroom.

The upstairs communal bathroom.

Embley and Breanna's room, as viewed from the bed.

The master bathroom attached to their room. With bonus Dawbis taking a bubble bath.

The skilling room on the very top of the house. I guess it could be called a study.

And the rooftop balcony, where the telescope, career reward items and skill benches live.

I really love building and decorating houses, though I wish I had the skills of someone like katu_sims or iceraptoress, or some of the other simmers I stalk watch. I still haven't mastered any of the building/decorating cheats, so all my stuff is on a nice square grid. ^_^;

Anyway! Moving right along!

Breanna got fired from her reporter job due to a bad chance card. Normally, I ignore chance cards, but Legacy rules mean I have to choose an option. And, well, I am bad with those options.

Fortunately, Snedleigh still loves his mom, even if she's an unemployed slacker now.

First family meal in the new house! Bologna sandwiches, which honestly, is the kind of stuff I've always had immediately after a move. XD

D: Grim Reaper AGAIN?!

Friedrich must have been more upset about Naenae's death than he let on. Most married couples die fairly close together, though.

Epergne is horrified to see Grim stick his scythe right into Friedrich's forehead. Ow!

At least he got a nice view of the Hula Zombies.

And a fruity beverage as well! He was permaplatinum, so he had a good life.

And everyone is affected. Wait, one of these things is not like the others...

Embley: miserable, despondent.

Epergne: inconsolable, weeping bitterly.

Snedleigh: in total breakdown mode.

Hobart: chillaxing?! WTF, Hobart?!

Friedrich joined Naenae in the newly built mausoleum in the back yard. Which looks exactly like the last one I built. Yeah.

They both died when they were 75 days old. Naenae left sizable inheritances to Friedrich ($20K), Embley ($9400), Epergne ($7500), Eepie ($6600) and Boggerslosh ($4400, guess we know who the black sheep of the family is...). Friedrich left inheritances to Embley ($7700), Eepie ($7700), Boggerslosh ($7000), Epergne ($6900) and Snedleigh ($2500). I guess this explains why Snedleigh was so upset- I had no idea he and Friedrich were so close.

Apparently, manic smustling while receiving inheritances is the way to go...

Oh wait, no, they're still extremely depressed.

Epergne and Embley comfort each other, both knowing they are responsible to keep the family going now.

And that's all for now. Sorry most of this update was house spam, but hey, there was some excitement at the end there, huh? I'm really going to miss Friedrich and Naenae.

As always, thanks for reading.
