Seeing Robbie Baldwin like this was killing Terry. He remembered when his little brother Bobby had completely redone his bedroom in New Warriors. He’d given his brother no end of crap, but it’d made Bobby happy and his parents had actually approved. Back then, the New Warriors had seemed wholesome; not on the same level as the Avengers or the Fantastic Four, but better than the X-Men. The New Warriors, especially poster boy Speedball, had been the kind of things parents were cool with.
Now Robbie Baldwin was horribly broken, and Terry was forbidden from helping him, which went counter to everything Dani had worked so hard to instill in him. If he ever wanted his mother back, he had to keep Robbie broken, so Norman Osborn could keep using him. He was so scared and desperate… but so was Terry. This was his one chance to make things right with his mom.
Still, it was killing him inside, knowing he could fix Robbie. He wouldn’t have been Speedball again, but he wouldn’t be so completely broken. And Terry would feel better, putting Robbie back together.
But he would be damning his mom to being broken, just like Robbie.
