Victor peeled the bandage off his shoulder and craned his neck, trying to see what had been beneath. “How does it look?” he asked Alani, giving up, for the moment, on his attempts to make his neck bend in unnatural ways.
“Not bad,” the girl said, crouching a little to get a better look at the stylized sun the reptilian boy now sported. “It’s very you. Are you going to get it filled in?”
Victor turned a little so that he could look at the tattoo in the mirror. “I dunno,” he admitted. “I kinda like it as-is. And I’m not a big fan of the driving more needles into my flesh kinda thing.”
“I bet Julian can’t wait to see it,” Alani said teasingly, smirking at Victor scowled and sniffed.
“I’m sure I don’t know what you mean.”
