“Her Highness is very good at this,” Kl’rt noted, his voice pitched low so that it would only reach the Emperor’s ears. “She is an excellent tactician.”
“She’s had to be,” Ted murmured back. “She’s the nerve center for this whole operation.”
“She will make a fine Empress one day,” Kl’rt said, pride creeping into his voice. “Not that Prince Max would not be an excellent leader as well,” the Super-Skrull added. “He should be a part of this.”
“He’s twelve,” Ted reminded Kl’rt flatly. “I know you’re very proud of his training as a Super-Skrull, but it’s hard enough for me to have Sarah here. I’m not bringing him into this too.”
“As my Emperor wishes,” Kl’rt said neutrally.
“Oh don’t give me that,” Ted sighed, clearly disgusted. “You’ve gotten really passive-aggressive in your old age.” He turned a very serious look on the Super-Skrull, one of the few people around him that he actually trusted, at least a little. “If you try to bring Max here, it won’t be me you have to deal with.”
“Be assured, my Emperor, I live in mortal terror of your mate, and would not dare risk his wrath.”
