Alani rested her chin on the back of her chair and grinned. “All set of your first class?” she asked.
“I’ve got Mr. Wagner’s original lesson plan, I’ve got my ideas, and I’ve got students,” Victor said. “I’m good to go.” He hesitated. “God, I’m gonna mess this up!” he moaned, burying his face in his hands.
Alani patted Victor’s shoulder. “You’ll be fine.”
“Why did I agree to do this?” he asked, peering at Alani from between his fingers.
“Because you secretly long to prance around in a floofy shirt waving a sword?” she suggested.
