Technically, it was their second date, but since their first date was interrupted fifteen minutes in by The Trapster (who Teddy insisted on calling Paste Pot Pete) trying to hold up the restaurant they were in, both of them were willing to call this their first real date.
Billy footed the bill for dinner - hamburgers, soda, and an ice cream Sunday that the two boys split. Teddy paid for the movie, an old Bella Lugosi flick where he didn’t play Dracula that was running in a tiny art house theater.
The two boys laughed quietly and chatted about how obvious it was that Lugosi’s character had a thing for the guy who had him turn the girl into a zombie and stole kisses in the back row.
