Oh God, I love a tragedy. Sometimes I feel it's only true when it's like this ( ... )

ahahah I feel sort of unworthy of this comment aaaargh. I like how you get it always.

ALEX. I don't know why I love her so much. She is all tan and shiny shiny hair and legs, and she writes these "fashion" columns in OK! that are literally like "DO YOU LIKE SHIRTS? I WORE A SHIRT TO A FANCY PARTY WITH STEVEN. I READ IN THE NEWSPAPER ABOUT KANYE WEST? HE WEARS A SHIRT. CONGRATULATIONS WHOEVER HAS BABIES!! LOL APPLETINI" But I just think she is inexplicably great and, you know, above all a person, so.

thank YOU.

It's because you are writing for me. Without knowing it.

And this? ...CONGRATULATIONS WHOEVER HAS BABIES!! LOL APPLETINI

[ded from laughing] You are either brilliant or she actually said that, and I can't decide which is better.

Okay first of all, this might be one of the best pieces of fiction I've ever read. There's just something about it that's rather hard to gasp, I don't know exactly what it is, a feeling maybe?, that you don't see too often, neither in fanfiction nor in published fiction.

I think it really shows that you've done some research before writing this, because I think it really feels like you've put some time and effort into this. Everything is so thought through and well-written. :)

I love how you interlaced the past with the present. My favorite parts of this were the pieces that took place in 2006 and 2007 because they were so lighthearted and happy compared to the rest of this fic :) Their friendly banter back in 2006 and 2007 is just too precious for words <3 ( ... )

oh, thank you so much. I am really, really glad you enjoyed it. and that the progression of the relationship worked. I wanted to show them beginning to take responsibility for themselves, starting to see the effects of their actions, and I was really worried that the scrambled timeline would make it hard to trace that arc. so I'm so gratified that it was understandable!

Really, thank you, this is a lovely comment. ♥

ps Richard Siken, the poet, is just ajsfkdlsjfls ridiculous amazing funny tragic beautiful and everyone should be reading him, always. I wanted to use pretty much all of Litany In Which Certain Things Are Crossed Out, which I think might be one of the greatest love/end of love/love poems ever written NO BIG DEAL, but alas it was too long.

This is so, so, so ridiculously amazing. Like, I want to go through the whole fic and quote from each paragraph because everything is so lovely but that would probably take me forever. I like the way you had Stevie confront Xabi about the Gareth Barry saga being his reason for leaving - I haven't read a fic where that happens before. Also ++points for your Alex portrayal - its never fun when she's written to be crazy/horrible.

This comment is really not an accurate reflection of how much I love this but I really, really do & hope you write more of them!!!

thank you, so much. ♥ I'm glad the confrontation worked.

Yes it is tough, right, this trope of awful Alex and her awful awfulness? I mean, if she is so HIDEOUSLY TERRIBLE then you gotta lose a little respect for Stevie; he's the one choosing to hang out with her all the time. Besides, I love her for reasons I cannot possibly begin to fathom and her columns are hilarious sooooo haters to the etc.
