Ribs!

A few nights ago Lanska called me up and offered a free ticket to the "Not So Silent Night" LIVE105 concert for Friday night (last night). Though I was second on his list of potential attendees (HAHAHA), I went and had a ball (thanks for declining abs=)! Quite the concert experience I gotta tell ya...

First off, the lineup included:

The White Stripes ...the headliners. Why did jack white sound like Axel Rose?

Death Cab for Cutie ...These guys were incredible live! Mr. Gibbard (lead singer man) was so spastic and kept fidgeting around with his guitar chord throughout the whole performance. He also spit a lot. A LOT!! hmm... What will be my nervous habit when i'm a rockstar? I have a feeling I'd be one of those fainting rockstars who don't just throw up before a show, but actually pass out! "Time for the show Arleene...oh sh*t, she passed out again!"

Hot Hot Heat... I missed a good plenty of this show but for reasons of which I'll explain later...

Coheed and Cambria...HUGE hair and distorted guitar solos. Apparently these guys sing about Dungeons, Dragons, and awesomeness? Lanska said they're also big on Lord of the Rings references? Hmm. Must look up lyrics and post later.

Autolux (missed 'em)
Birdmonster (missed 'em too)

SO NOW FOR THE HIGHLIGHT! Lanska got hooked up from a friend of his who works for live105. So on top of the free tickets, we also got a nice little sticker that was for "VIP's?" What does that mean you ask? Well, we asked the same question. So after Coheed and Cambria, we leave our comfy little balcony seats and head out to look for what free sh*t can we get as VIP's??? haha

I see a sign on the elevator that says "The Bud True Music Chill Zone is on the 4th Floor." With curiosity as our guide, we head up to the 4th floor and into this random lobby where at the end there's an area with it's own private bar and deejay. HOWEVER, let me emphasize that there are no other cheapy VIP stickers in sight! Anyway, we walk further up this corridor and to our pleasant surprise find a frigg'n buffet at the end. Lanska and I take one confused look at eachother, then head straight for the plates and help ourselves. Have you ever been to a concert and had ribs, bbq chicken, cornbread, slaw, and brownies? B/C I haven't! It was excellent!

Anyway, with beer and ribs at hand, Lanska and I leave the buffet oasis and end up running into Amy (the live 105 hook up buddy). She takes one look at the food and wonders how we got it. Apparently we really weren't even supposed to be on the 4th floor and that whole "Chill Zone" area was for concert attenders who payed mega bucks. HAHAHA. Oh well. hahah.

So later in the night (quite satiated and feeling like a million bucks), we head back to the elevators and find that where there weren't people watching earlier, there now stood guards. Or "guardians of the ribs" as I like to call them.

Random eh? =P
Okay, thanks for putting up with my wordiness.

I hope you feel loved today!
