omg you actually commented though ;A;

I'm so happy that you took the time to plot out what you liked about the story! I did want to give the characters more dimension and tried my best to make them act in a manner befitting the actual history of the nations they represent without compromising their personalities, and I am very happy that you think it worked. :)

I think one thing I wanted to consistently depict was that these two were teenagers on top of the world at that point in time, without much regard to consequence because, as experienced as they are, their personal decisions are also hampered by the emotionality and idiocy of teens (because seriously, we're idiots when we're teenagers). I also think (which I believe is reflected in Austria's character) that the nations are very in advisor roles to their leaders because their suggestions, while generally the best decisions in the long term, can easily be ignored for political purposes ( ... )

Also hahahaha I never considered the fact that Spain was sweet on Romano because the Pope lived there. Thanks for giving me something to think about!

Well yeah! I've already read Smoke and Ashes, but there wasn't comment box so I couldn't review it...but yeah I love it! God that final scene was so dramatic, like Prussia is so well behaved and so down to earth, until that moment when they want to kill her and she's like exploding (I never loved her more) on everyones faces!! this was like a return from the deaths scene I was like OMG ºAº and to think that her rage was like Germany's true punishment...

Also I came to love Russia a lot, many fics picture him as mean to Prussia, but I liked how seet he was with her...ok creppy but sweet if you read between the lines <3 now that I think about it he was the only one with a squint of a happy ending XD

oh I forgot! about Spain and Romano, I came to that idea because of something that happened when Pizarro came to Peru. The chroniclers say that when the conquerors came they had the idea of sharing religion to the Incas, and offered them the Bibble, but the Incas were pantheistic so when Atahualpa tried to "hear" god's voice and nothing happened he threw the book to the floor and thus was sentenced...

that's short history!

No comment box? :O Where?

Ahsjkadslkjads thanksss. Not a lot of people like/read that fic, and fewer still review, which makes me sad. :( I really studied my butt off to pull off that prompt. I kind of hope the OP finds the prompt.

And yeah, I remember that. I think it was part of my in-kink meme history notes to justify Spain's treatment of Peru + his descent into bloodlust. I still wouldn't be able to connect the Pope, Romano and Spain being nice to him. XD

really? that's sad...yeah I noticed all the historical references...-_-'''

and just think about it for a religious person the Italys might be the perfect catholic child + Romano's own personality charm, IDK makes me think that spain collud relate to him more than with other colonies, at least at first, Spamano is one of my OTPs but I can't buy a perfectly sweet relationship from the begining XD
