Today I learned that chem dip can sit long enough that it finally starts eating away at the convenient tray that sits inside it.
In other news: I've started restoring the VNB. I had hoped to dip the carb over night, but that'll have to wait. Just as well since I want to replace the top end all the gaskets. Wont order that until I have a clearer idea of what all I need. Ideally a used VNB/VBB/VBC engine will appear on scoot.net in the near future and be within driving distance. If not then I'll just go ahead with a complete tear down and rebuild of her existing engine. I also think I want to get her sandblasted.
