God seems to be gracing us at least with crises that pass relatively quickly nowadays...that's something!

Dear Friends of Maeve:
Thank you for all of your well-wishes and prayers. A recurring theme voiced by many of you was “Enough already!” and “What else should this little girl have to handle?” Well, as usual, your prayers must have carried considerable weight, because she has been discharged and is at home. After a long, sleepless night of itching and upset, her doctors reached consensus that A) she definitely does have Stevens-Johnson Syndrome but that B) it peaked yesterday. Fewer than 1% of people who take Trileptal for seizure prevention get Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, but our girl seems to be a lightning rod for the rare. It could still take weeks for it to go away (let's hope not), but Maeve got the green light to go home sweet home, with very close observation, of course. When one doctor mentioned that a cool swimming pool may be soothing, Maeve’s face lit up and before you could say “GetMeTheHeckOutOfHere!” she was splashing in Ma and Papa’s pool (see pic). And this, too, shall pass.
Thank you for riding this rollercoaster life with us.
Love, Auntie Stacey
