SHARK episode 1
Five-members rock band SHARK finally managed to secure debut by their own terms when their vocalist Kazuki(Fujii Ryusei) died. For a year band continued to perform with 4 members and their guitarist Kai(Hamada Takahiro) took the role of vocalist too. Girl who is in charge of the band, Ichika(Yamashita Rio), finally asks manager about their future and finds out that they need to find new vocalist and start everything anew in order to get new chance. Instead other band, under other girl, Okawa(Mano Erina), is chosen to debut. Since she is getting married and wants band Black Dog to sing on her wedding, she wants to borrow Kai as special guest. The thing is, Black Dog, now led by guitarist whos' name we don't get but is played by Sano Kazuma who looks like pimp, has their own problem. Their vocalist, Mizuki(Hirano Sho) is such cocky idiot saying how band is nothing without him and other members can't take it anymore so they cut him out of the band. That is why they need Kai.
With heavy heart, Ichika goes to inform guys of the news but can't actually do it. Her excuse for coming is new hairstyle. Ha! And we catch other name, it is bassist(i think) and really nice guy Ayumu(played by reason why i am watching this, Matsumura Hokuto). Ichika and Kai are returning together an he is ok with doing wedding since it will be good promo for the band but also knows she wanted to say something else and presses for it. She finally spills the beans and he lashes on her. She also blames herself and adds that she is to blame for everything since she should have believed in them from the start(the day Kazuki died he went to meet with her since she finally decided to fight for them to debut with their own song). She starts crying and Kai wants to comfort her but doesn't.
Mizuki goes to sing on the street and doesn't attract any audience(heee) but does get him business card of Very ImportantSleazyLookingGuy. He goes to pester his friend on her work in a cafe but runs off when she tells him they are having gig and shows him invitation.
Kai is preparing to go on stage and Ichika wishes him good luck. Black Dogs' start announcing their guest when Mizuki barges in screaming that Black Dog is his band(he was leader). He trows Sano Kazuma on the ground and starts singing their song acapella. Kai is shocked to recognize same energy he saw in Kazuki and joins him with guitar(there were hilarious comments regarding this part cause guy is actually playing unplugged electric guitar). Soon whole Black Dog guys decide to play along and Ichika is mesmerized with Mizukis' energy and chemistry with Kai. In the end she asks him to become SHARK vocalist.
Since Sano Kazuma is not credited i have to say i was trilled to see him. Personally my favorite part was beginning performance and i think i will lament Fujii Ryuseis' departure for quite some time. He really has great energy. Also other guys look mighty fine on stage, i don't know how but Hokuto is making that hairstyle cute. Usually i hate it. Even on Oguri Shun. Other band guys i didn't mention are Hikaru Iwamoto playing drummer Kenzo and Tomohiro Kamiyama playing Teppei but i didn't catch what he is since his face was too distracting. Gomen! Who said too cute is good?! Yamashita Rio is overplaying her character in most parts and that is bother to watch. Also her character is ridiculous. Come on, you let band you like rot for a year?! You honestly didn't realize after 3-6 months that they will need new vocalist?! Riiight!
