Today...
today i woke up to a distant phone ringing this morning, and i just assumed that somebody'd pick up. i remember getting up and going into my bathroom and seeing that all of my shit was moved (my toothbrush, contacts, deodorant, etc.), so i made sure everything was in its right place because i have OCD. i went back to bed until my alarm went off at noon and lied there for a good half hour listening to my björk cd. my mom barged in and said that sam called and left a message. i listened to the message, and she called to see if i wanted to come over and watch her new pete & pete dvd. we had decided that we were going to get together a few days prior, so it was good to hear her voice. i quickly returned her call with an affirmative, ate frosted flakes (because they're Grrreat!), took a shower, and headed over to sam's.
i hadn't seen pete & pete in ages, so that was refreshing. i had forgotten all about Artie "the strongest man in the world" along with a good 88% of the other characters. i also remember not liking the show too much, but i remembered some parts of episodes (i.e. pitstains, vericose vein highways, and cream corn). the first episode we watched focused on little pete staying awake for 11 days straight in attempt to break the world record. that was probably my favorite of the ones we watched. fricken ARTIE is my hero. we also watched the rangeboy episode, the shop class episode, and the forgotten history test episode. after today, my childhood hatred towards the show has been expunged. after pete & pete we went outside and talked about school, stories, and gossip. later, john showed up, and sam made noodles w/ mushrooms. we ate and talked a little more. she had to drive holly to a choir concert, so john and i left. it was good to see her again.
i went home and had soup with the rents. they were all excited about the american idol finale. my mom and i played scrabble while the show started. during our game, i started talking to jenni on aim. she wanted to get together, so i said she could stop by after she ran a few errands and we could watch a movie. a minute after i made plans with her, chase called asking if i wanted to do something. i told him i was expecting company, but he could come over if he'd like. chase said sure.
chase arrived first, and we started playing gauntlet legends for dreamcast in the basement. jenni had a little trouble finding my house, so she got here about a half hour later. i let her in, and we headed downstairs. my mom said that we could have the tv, so we went into the family room and picked a movie. we ended up watching Go. i think they both liked it (chase had seen it a long time ago). chase left right after the movie, and jenni and i talked about state and being home for about a half hour. we talked about how our friends either changed or were completely the same, and we talked about our roommates in college. it was a weird conversation. she kept fidgetting w/ my dvd case, so i was under the impression she was getting bored. two minutes later she left.
overall a pretty awkward day...
