City of Lost Children...

So... tonight i watched a movie called the City of Lost Children at chase's... it was "peculiar" as far as movies are concerned. i've wanted to see this movie for a long time just because of the cover, and i've seen movie posters for it online that looked cool/creepy. the cover has a picture of a skinny old man with a long nose and an overbite with this helmet/hat thing that has syringes and tubes sticking out of it. judging by the cover, i thought that the movie was going to be a horror flick, but i was wrong. the movie was about this guy who couldn't dream, so he'd steal children and watch their dreams instead... then there was this "strong man" played by the guy who was Hellboy who lost his little brother, and he wanted to save him... i was disappointed that the movie was dubbed into english, because it was originally french... overall i thought it was strangely well-done, and i might buy it to watch it again on dvd format with subtitles instead of dubbing. when the movie ended, chase, eric, and i looked at each other with puzzling faces... the "what the hell did we just watch" face...
earlier today, i watched a movie called Lost & Delirious... which was also rather odd. it was about three girls that roomed together at a boarding school. two of the girls had already been living together, and the third roommate... played by mischa barton... was new. the two girls that were already living together were involved intimately, which made mischa's character "mouse" a little weirded out. after a while she became friends with both of them. one of the girls (victoria) was afraid of being caught in the act, and the other didn't care so much... of course one of the girls' little sisters (and friends) walks in on them lying together naked one morning, and she is irked by the situation. victoria was ashamed of herself, and basically exiled the other girl (pollie) from her life... pollie tried and tried to win victoria back, but it was no use... i also enjoyed this movie... probably because it was fucked up and sad, like a lot of the movies that i like. the lesbianism didn't hurt either... but yeah...
today was a good day... nothing too exciting... but two good movies.

oooooh... the alien's curious... haha
