Mistakes are the Portals of Discovery
Update time! Life has been dragging me down for the past few weeks, but I seem to be starting a happier path.
1. My best friend from high school came to visit me last weekend. I was so excited! She hasn't seen me since I moved out to San Francisco two years ago. Plus, it was St. Patty's Day weekend in the city - a guaranteed good time. But....
She just was a different person from who I knew back when. We didn't really talk to each other when she was out here. I thought it was going to be so amazing to have a close friend to stomp around the city with. Not so much. She seemed to think I was supposed to be the same person I was in high school. Umm, no. Don't get me wrong! There was some fun portions of the weekend, but overall, it was a little bit of a dissappointment. We took some really great pictures in Napa Valley - I hesitate to post them because they have me in them. >.< I don't think I've ever posted a picture of myself in my LJ before....
2. Work actually does not suck right now! \(^.^)/ I was giving a little bit of a promotion. As such, I am now in charge of planning at least a third of the big Film Festival coming up. It's exciting to have people listening to me or once. When the date gets closer I'll let you guys in on some of the pretty cool people we've managed to have attend.
3. Grad Student is officially off my radar. We went on one really nice date together - tea in the Japanese Gardens in Golden Gate Park followed by a day at the art museum - and then he ruined it. After dropping me off at my door and giving me a pretty fantastic goodnight kiss, he says to me, " Oh! Don't worry about my girlfriend by the way, she's open to us seeing other people." D: I had NO IDEA SHE EVEN EXISTED. That was the end of that.
