This is my IM profile at the moment:
"One man's ceiling is another man's floor."
"A fool's paradise is a wise man's hell."
"Never... run with scissors?"
* * *
"Mmm... mineral survey..."
* * *
"Have we determined what threat they pose?"
"Apparently all the desserts on base are in grave danger."
* * *
"I suppose there isn't a Big Cat in the Sky, is there?"
I'M SURPRISED AT YOU, MAURICE. OF COURSE THERE ARE NO CAT GODS. THAT WOULD BE TOO MUCH LIKE... WORK.
Maurice nodded. One good thing about being a cat, apart from the extra lives, was that the theology was a lot simpler.
Three Stargate quotes (all from Urgo, heavy on the Jack), and a Pratchett quote. I think that about sums up my fannish state at the moment.
I do feel bad about deleting all the Pam quotes to make room for Jack. Oh, and now she has internet at her house again. I wonder how long it'll take her to notice and/or be offended. She says interesting things all the time, it's just that I forget them so quickly. I should carry a pad of paper & pen at all times. Or a tape recorder. I've always wanted a tape recorder, so I could make little 'note to self' comments. My low-tech version of this is to write things on my wrist (or ankle, when I run out of wrist space), but I usually forget to copy them down somewhere more permanent before I shower.
Agh. I was going to say (well, type) "is it friday yet?" but given that I have a paper due for Shakespeare Friday morning, I actually rather need time between now and then. But if I'm good and finish my paper on time, I'll have shiny new Stargate as a reward! Not that I'd be denied Stargate if I didn't finish the paper... although for months after Firefly was cancelled, I was convinced it was my fault because I'd failed two classes that quarter. Like the fates were punishing me for my daft priorities, even though the whole 'media obsession vs. schoolwork' thing wasn't really even the problem that quarter. Why yes, I am prone to crazy, paranoid delusions, why do you ask?*
And now, a Pam quote (just for good measure):
regarding her older brother: "He used to sit on me and fart. That is only fun for one person!"
*okay, maybe not full-fledged delusions. lurking, nagging, utterly unreasonable fears and worries, yes. delusions, no.
