"...and I made us dodos - the extinct, flightless bird of Canada!"

Pam has fallen asleep on the couch while reading Edmund Spenser. It's really rather adorable.

Here is an actual conversation we actually had before class this morning, after discussing the insomnia-curing qualities of Spenser's work:

Pam: "Edmund Spenser must be lying in his grave going, 'Damn-' "
Me: " 'I am boring.' "
Pam: " 'Good thing I'm dead.' "

Well, it was funny at the time.

The lecture today in Shakespeare could very well have been titled "Twelfth Night: A Heaping Helping of Slash." Very narrow focus on the Sebastian/Antonio relationship, with lots of textual evidence. I love my slash-savvy prof. She also made the point quite clearly that with Cesario/Orsino and Viola/Olivia romances at the end, at least one couple must be verging on the homoerotic. Such joy!

[many, many hours later]

ugh. eyes are falling closed as i type. who'd have thought those touch-typing lessons in 5th grade would work out so well. so, so tired, but i know if i sleep now i won't wake up early to finish my journalism assignment. i've been quite useless today. and i've apparently lost the use of the shift key once again. was working on that as a new year's resolution (yes, a month late. i've given up resolving not to procrastinate), as I really ought to get over my issues with the Shift Key. Shifty, shifty.

Hmm. My futon, she calls to me, but I must resist. 800 words really shouldn't take too long, but it's a damn descriptive/observational piece, so I'm obsessing over every little word. It's like I'm writing a story, except I don't get to toss in any gay sex, as I didn't actually observe any. Alas.

pam, ucd
