Well, as life turns out, I didn't see Children of Men until tonight.
But... God...
It's been a long time since as movie has chilled me to the bone like this one did. From the haunting opening to the end, I never relaxed. I was on edge the whole time, and I couldn't decide whether to cover my eyes or my mouth. I settled for gripping my mom's hand as hard as I could.
I just, have no words for this movie. There's violence, and cruelty, and death, yes. But there is also humanity, and tenderness, and life.
