...

It was confusing for Breakdown. It really was.

For one, he wasn’t entirely sure where he’d onlined this time. The city looked strange and vastly different to Kaon, making him cringe slightly.

Thinking back, the last thing he remembered was something hitting him. There had been some sort of storm with vicious winds that had hit his armor harshly. It made it hard to navigate in the first place, but on top of that, a fight had broke out. And then something had hit him in the helm, making him black out.

He’d soon awoke in a strange city, one he hadn’t ever visited.

He felt so out of place, especially since he appeared to be the only grounder stood around. Every bot he could see was a flier, soaring through the skies and avoiding him.

As he sat on the ground looking around, finally someone approached him, flying carefully down in front of him. The seeker’s slim build was interesting, especially his pedes which were oddly heeled, but Breakdown couldn’t help but stare in confusion at the sly smirk on the flier’s face plates.

“I’m definitely not in Kaon...” Breakdown grumbled.

“Well well well, what do we have here? Are you an Autobot or a Decepticon?” the seeker asked in a sort of high pitched and scratchy voice.

Shuttering his optics, Breakdown gawped at the seeker. “Neither...I’m neutral”

“How boring” the seeker turned, his wings twitching as he faced away from the bulky blue mech.

Glancing up, Breakdown spotted more fliers circling them. “Um...who are you and where the slag am I?” he demanded, annoyed by the current lack of answers.

Scoffing, the seeker glanced back at him. “I am Starscream, Air Commander of the mighty energon seekers” he posed dramatically, making Breakdown cringe more so than before. “And you, dear grounder, are in the perfect city of Vos”

“Vos? Scrap” Breakdown grouched.

Laughing at his reaction, Starscream took two strides away. “You mentioned Kaon? You’ll need to head that way, down that bronze plated road” and with that, the seeker transformed and went flying off with the other fliers.

“This is so weird” the blue mech moaned, transforming and starting to follow the road, wondering why it was bronze as that gave it awful traction.

Breakdown?

Halting, the named mech went back to his bipedal mode and looked around in confusion. He swore he’d heard someone speak his name. As he inspecting his surroundings, he could see Vos in the far distance behind him, and in front what looked like a never ending path towards Kaon...it was at least the next city over, but was still a long way off.

Deciding to walk for a while, he soon spotted another flier sat on the side of the path, presumably from Vos, though he did look a lot different to the other fliers Breakdown had seen in the city.

The seeker glanced up at him as he walked past, soon calling out to him. “Could you help me?”

Turning to look at the flier, Breakdown tilted his head in confusion. “Depends...what do you need help with?”

“My brother...I lost him. Have you seen him? He looks like me” the green seeker asked, looking a bit apprehensive as he spoke.

“Can’t say I have” Breakdown sighed. “Sorry”

The flier stood, grimacing as he did so. “And I’m guessing you don’t know how to fix wings?”

“Nope”

“Frag” the green seeker cursed, “Okay...know any good medics nearby?”

Breakdown grinned, “Actually, I do. I’m the assistant to one in Kaon. I’m heading there right now”

“I guess it’s better than nothing” the seeker mumbled, falling into line beside Breakdown.

Glancing at the flier’s wings, Breakdown could instantly see one was horribly bent out of shape and had wires hanging from it. He didn’t want to ask what had happened, but he could tell it must be painful.

“Names Breakdown by the way”

The seeker nodded in recognition “I am Skyquake”

Knowing he’d have to keep traveling on foot now that he had a wounded mech with him, Breakdown set them to a fast pace. The pair remained in silence mainly because they really didn’t know what to say to the other.

The silence was so intense that it began to get to Breakdown.

He needed to talk...it was better than this awkwardness.

“So Skyquake...where you from? You don’t exactly look like the other fliers I saw around here”

The seeker hummed in thought. “I’m from Tarn...probably why I was shot out the sky by the Vosians upon entering their perimeter”

Breakdown looked to Skyquake in shock, “Wow...you’re even further from home than I am”

“Dreadwing’s gonna kill me” the seeker lamented. “He’s probably flown home to look for me” the green seeker frowned as he looked up, noticing how close they were finally getting to Kaon. “Once I’m fixed, I’ll be able to make it home in no time”

A pain entered Breakdown’s helm, his vision stretching and the world around him looking odd. “What’s going on?!” he demanded, feeling a ghostly form grab at his shoulder plating.

Breakdown! BREAKDOWN!

Shuddering, he looked to Skyquake but saw him slowly fading, the whole world slowly fading around him. Screaming out in fear, he bolted up right, finding himself in a berth in the medical bay of the Nemesis.

“Wha? Where the slag am I?” he demanded, his vision clearing slowly and revealing the concerned faceplates of Knock Out.

“It’s alright Breakdown” he spoke gently, “You’re with me”

The blue mech shuttered his optics to make sure he wasn’t dreaming and quickly found it was as real as it always was. “What happened Knock Out?” he asked in confusion.

“You were hit pretty hard in a fight...but I fixed you and your finish” the red mech smirked, placing his servos on his hips. “You’re welcome”

Frowning, Breakdown rubbed at his optics in irritation. “I had a really weird dream...like a memory but stranger”

“Whatever” Knock Out dismissed him quickly, “It was probably all from the blow to your thick processor”

“Haha, very funny”, Breakdown grouched as he slipped off the berth and stood up carefully “But it’s good to be back”

The sleek red medic rolled his optics and moved further away from his partner, teasing him as went over to his polish. “Yeah yeah, let me guess: there’s no place like home” he laughed, watching the blue mech moodily head for the exit. Before Breakdown left, he chuckled to himself. “You big lug”
