Back in the land of the free and the home of the brave

So I"m back in the States. This summer went by way too fast. Way too fast. I"m thinking that I have to go back next year. Like I seriously don't know if I can go for more than a year without seeing those people there that I dearly love.

I got back August 2, well August 3rd at 3:30 am. So I live August 2 like twice and it was not my favourite day of life. Since we had to leave the hostel at 2:45 am none of us slept, then we spent like 3 hours at the airport, our flight left at 6:15, I slept the whole way. Then we got to Frankfurt and said good-bye to Livvy, Ernie and Stephanie. Then we waited in line to get our tickets to find out that 5 out of 6 us didn't have seats on the plane, but we were guranteed a spot. We have like a 5 hour lay-over there, then an 8 hour and 45 minute flight. I sat next to this man who's a believer and runs camps in Eastern Europe during the summer. He's also a teacher. And he's Catholic so I got to ask him some questions that I have. There was a quite German dude on the other side of me, but he slept most of the time. Then we got to Chicago and I had like a 6 hour layover there. Customs was a breeze to get through. Then we said good-bye to Jon, Brenda and Melissa. Then Erin, Laura and I hung out, then we said good-bye to Erin, then I said good-bye to Laura. About an hour or so before my flight was supposed to leave a storm was brewing. So my flight was delayed an hour and a half. I called some people and took a little nap. Then we finally got on the plane and sat there for another 2 hours. I was about to lose it-it was the first time all summer that I just wanted to go home. I prayed alot and unfortunately I wasn't very nice. I told the Lord I was tired of putting on kindness and love and I just wanted to go home and I didn't know why He was doing this to me. And I prayed for the lightening to stop and I was like Lord do you even hear me? I asked Him if we could at least start taxiing by midnight-and guess what we did!!!! Isn't the Lord great? Then I did some major apologizing for my attitude and words. Then we landed at 2:45 at DFW, and I got home at 3:30/3:45. And I was wide awake. I fell asleep at like 6 am and woke up at 10, showered, went to Target, came home and did some stuff. Then I crashed at 4 and woke up at midnight. Fell back asleep at 2 something and woke up at 5, then crashed again at 5 pm and woke up at 9 something. I was so disoriented earlier today when I woke up. My phone rang and I didn't know where I was. I thought I was in Russia and couldn't answer my phone, but then I thought this is my apartment and it's not in Russia. Crazyness.

It's so dark here at night that I find it hard to fall asleep. And it's so dark for so long. So my poor body is having a hard time adjusting. I was going to try and not nap during the day but I just can't stay awake.

So I found some not so pleasant things out when I got back. One that the annex like exploded. I actually saw Beau's facebook pic's when I was in St. Pete's but wow. Then at my apt. complex a fire happened at one of the buildings. And it's freakingly hot here. It's horrible.

But on a brighter note. I"m going to AL August 15-22. I know I'll be driving on my b'day but I don't really care. It'll be nice to break up all this time I have before school starts-which I looked at my syllabi earlier today and it's not pretty. It's going to be a really really hard semester. Bring on the stress. You know even though teaching is not my thing, I'd much rather be back in Russia teaching for a year than in school. But maybe after school starts I"ll remember how much I do actually love it.

Well I"m going to see if I can fall asleep again.
Peace out!!!
