If you're curious if a pan that's been in the oven for an hour is hot the answer is yes.

I am an idiot.

(big red splotchy burn, no blisters)

Oh good grief, I know this one from experience. If it's not glowing, steaming or otherwise giving some *visual* indication of its temperature, I am incapable of remembering it's hot.

*sends ice and sympathy*

Oh baby *hugs*

You kept it in cold water for at *least* ten minutes? Didn't you!

ran cold water over it for about 5 min and then held an ice pack (wrapped in a towel) on it for another 10 or so

all there is a light splotchy bit now. I might ice it again once or twice, it's still a bit tender there

Feel really dumb though

Owwwww. Even if it's not blistering, I know it hurts. Ice is your friend!

I can't seem to clear my arms of the inside of the oven door. It's *inside* the oven, I should know it's hot, too.

I've done that too, but not as often and usually by accident.

This was just SO dumb- it's cast iron, of course it's going to be hot!

I'm going to ice it again soon. 10 min on 20 off if I remember my first aide correctly

Not that this burns, but I can't seem to clear doorways. My shoulders and hips are constantly bruised. My spatial sense is FAIL.

OMG- I was going to post yesterday that it was my opinion that doorways shift as you try to go through them, just to make you smack into them!

OW. Really sorry to hear that.

If it helps any, I've done it too, more than once...

*hugsies* thanks, in a way it helps to know others have done it to

Ouch >.<
Don't worry, I'm silly today too. I thought a beaker that had been on a bunsen burner for ten minutes wouldn't be hot and lifted it off with bare hands.

YIPES!!!! Are you okay?

Yep, no lasting damage and nothing spilled! It was stupid, though.

How's your hand? Did you get some ice - or frozen peas. Frozen peas are good.

did cold water immediately, then an ice pack, then frozen potatoes (hash browns- so they were basically pea-sized)

Now there's a light splotchy bit on the side of the palm that aches a bit (where the burn was the worst) and most of the rest of the palm feels tight, but overall- not bad and could have been a ton worse.
