J. and I had a good night at poker tonight. We both walked away with more than double our starting stake.
It's kind of rare that we both make a lot of money on the same night. Usually, we break even between the both of us, or I lose a lot. So, go us!
Memorable hands (for me):
Concentration: Beating out someone's sixes in the hole for trip sixes with my tens in the hold for trip tens.
Hold 'em: Staying in for the river, with four clubs on the board, and me with tens in the hole matched on the board for trips. The river paired up one of the other cards, and I ended up beating a low flush with my full house.
Anaconda: Bluffed out someone's likely full house with a max bet. I only had two pair, which never wins in Anaconda, but I was representing a higher full house than he had. He folded, leaving two potential lows to fight over half the pot and I took the rest.
Kings and little ones: Winning with five jacks, made up of one king (wild), two fives (my lowest card and wild), and two jack. I beat out four aces and someone folded four jacks.
Julie did well. In one case, she beat out a queens full house and a jacks full house with a kings full house in Anaconda.
All in all, a fun night of poker. It's always better when you win. And the Giants won. Yay!
