Stephen Harper did NOT ask to prorogue parliament because of an important issue. Stephen Harper prorogued parliament to ensure he remains Prime Minister a little while longer. We have an economic crisis in Canada and are facing a recession and deficit. Instead of acting now, he promised a budget for January. when the rest of the house (the majority of elected officials) said THIS IS NOT ENOUGH, Harper decided to stave off his loss of power for his own PERSONAL gain.

I'm not arguing for or against coalition government here, let me be plain. I'm arguing that Stephen Harper used back-door legalities to freeze our democratic system in his favour and in favour of his party remaining in power. They did nothing before the election. They called an election PRE the US elections for fear of losing once Barack Obama won. They try and scare the Canadian people by using words like "separatist" "socialist" etc. knowing full well the connotation stirs up fear amongst many.

Stephen Harper is a poor leader, and anyone following him blindly is just that - blind. Stephane Dion is not a savior, nor is he the best man for the job - but at least he promises something....I'd rather see a plan fail than no plan at all.

And do we not think that working WITH the Bloc could result in something good for once? Pierre Trudeau worked with the Bloc closely in drafting our constitution. It can be done, and it can be done with a positive outcome. Separatists simply want a VOICE. Canadians want a voice. Not this. This is the leader of my country with his tail between his legs.

For shame, Mr. Harper. For shame.
