Everyone talks about using ethanol and hydrogen as alternative fuel sources. However, these are very poor sources of energy. Hydrogen actually takes more energy to make than what you get out of it and emits more carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide gases than gasoline. With ethanol, you would need an area the size of Alaska to produce enough to meet America's fuel consumption. There simply isn't enough grow-able land to achieve that.

Many other 'alternative fuel sources' have similar problems as these two. As far as vehicle fuel consumption goes, hydrocarbons are the way to go. (Bio diesel is a synthetic hydrocarbon).

A hydrocarbon is basically a long chain of carbon and hydrogen atoms. They are the most efficient way of storing energy that we can readily use without putting on our radiation suits. Hydrocarbons occur naturally(like oil) or they can be made from fats. The problem is obtaining these fats to begin with. Whoever can solve that problem will be a very, very wealthy person.

As for electrical power... go nuclear!

Patent that idea before someone else does!!

P.S. I listened to that mix cd you gave me. There were four songs which I think were really sweet and I want to obtain full albums from the artists. There were a few tracks were alright, but I would like to hear more from the artists. Some of the stuff really didn't appeal to me though. I'm really not sure the names of what I liked and what I didn't. I'm going to give it another listen tonight and note what stands out to me.
