Our dock is still half sunk, only now it's completey separated from the land. The boat dock fixers are supposed to be back soon, but I don't know when. Our boat is probably really soggy by now. I hope the insurance company will buy us a new boat.
Josh found out that Mom's car is going to cost at least three grand. That was the first estimate. The body shop guy said that it could cost more depending on how much the parts would cost. I feel sorry for Josh. He may have it figured out though. The insurance company decided to total Josh's car, and he's going to buy it back from them once they do. I'm not sure how all the numbers work out, but he might be able to sell his car after he buys it back, pay for the caddy to be fixed, and start at ground zero again. Pray for him please.
I was just thinking the other day how crazy this summer has been. It will be known as the Summer of Insurance, or Damage Control Summer (aka - DCS). We've had to fix 5 cars (Josh's, Mallory's, Crystal's, Dad's, and now Mom's), a boat dock, and a boat. All the while, I've sat back, watched the hilarity, and gave thanks for my safety. As far as this family's concerned, I'm the safest driver we have - me and Mom anyways. I pray God continues to keep me safe.
We're playing tonight at 1st Nazarene, just two songs though. They're having a back to school prayer meeting tonight and they need us to play a couple of worship songs. Cary and I are the only ones playing. Jon and Josh are going with our church to 1st Baptist (I have no idea which one) for a another back to school bash. I think tonight will go pretty well. We play at 6:30 if you want to come.
Yesterday, Heidi and I were going to go to Atlanta, Georgia, for the 722 thing again, but everyone skipped out on us. After sickness, work, and grannies in town to visit attacked, only we were left. Our youth pastor said we should just wait until we have more people to take a trip on the church's money. He didn't really come out and say that, but I understood what he meant. He was going to catching too much flak for it. The day turned out great anyway. We decided to go to the Big Fat Salty Ham and treat ourselves since we had both gotten the day off. We went to Olive Garden, where we each tried something new (seafood alfredo for her, skewered chicken spiedini for me). The food was alright, not great, but good enough. We still ate til we were stuffed though. Then we went to Barnes and Noble and mentally spent a few thousand dollars. She ended up with a cd by the group Kasabian, and I got the Halo 2 soundtrack, which by the way is awesome. We ended the day with a Friends marathon at my house. I love her.
Well, time to get to reading again. I'm reading through Ted Dekker's The Circle trilogy. I finished Black the other day and started on Red. I like them a lot, especially since I got the hardbacks. I love being a book nerd.
