and I'll be Mambutu O'Malley!

Today was our weekly meeting at the Theatre.  The candy and cleaning supplies were strewn about in the lobby when I arrived.  The closet, where said stuff used to be, is becoming part of the female's bathroom.  Great.  At least they have a mirror in there!  (Just kiddin')  Seriously, those two bathrooms there are tiny.  One lady came out of the bathroom two weeks ago with a horrible onset of claustrophobia...poor lady.  Two guys can't fit into the male bathroom comfortably, either.  So, that's a new renovation in the new renovation place downtown.

The meeting wasn't too bad.  Sanders wasn't there, so there wasn't any yelling at people.  Mrs. Jen just calmly sorted through her list of discussion material until she got to a certain part.  On Thursday, there's going to be a reserved showing of Hoot.  For kids.  AT EIGHT THIRTY IN THE MORNING.  I kid you not.

"I didn't know there was a 7am mass.  I didn't even know there was a 7am!  What else haven't you told me?!?"  That's gonna be wonderful!  Those kids better show up...grr.  Like that blur effect, by the way?  Yeah, that's neat.

So, Robert.  I told you that I might talk with someone after the meeting today, but it didn't happen.  We did talk, though, just not as planned:

"Hey, are you hungry?"
"Nope!  I ate before I left the house."
"Oh, alright then.  See ya later, g."

and we parted ways.  I guess a talk shall have to wait.

After leaving the parking lot at work and dropping Gabi off at her soccer game, I headed back to Bennie's, hungry and defeated (about the invite to eat part up there).  Thank goodness I did, though, because a tow truck was trying to dump a car off at Bennie's house that wasn't supposed to be there anymore.  I'm not sure what all was going on, but the guy would've totally been gone had I not told Bennie, "So, what's all that stuff outside?"  It had something to do with him and the Mafia and the Don and something about a fashion show...I don't know, I wasn't paying much attention.  After all that, I played some Super Metroid, then I decided to play some Halo 2.  Bennie and I tore these kids up tonight, after a several month reprieve of kids getting ganked online.  Seriously, it was bad.  Example (I was "BAM2433(G)"):

Even Bennie was getting his licks in.  50 kills to 9 kills.  Nine!  We ended up playing the trio of "ABBnrml1" guys in back-to-back games, and we tore them up both times.  Completely and utterly exciting!  Other times, though, it didn't go so hot.  In fact, if it wasn't for the two of us cracking up laughing at several points during games, our teammates would've lost, since we were the only ones capturing flags or assaulting bases or watching backs.  Man, we worked great as a team, just like old times.  Whenever Robert gets a chance, we can get our hockey on again (YES).  Also, Bennie's mom went and picked us up some Sonic, since it was Sonic Tuesday (I never remember that!  I have to come over more often on Tuesdays.)

In case you didn't know, this week is E3, the Electronics Entertainment Exposition, in Los Angeles, CA.  Big stuff is going on this year, what with Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo all launching (or the aftermath of launching) a next-generation video game system to the public.  Sony went Monday, I believe, and Nintendo and Microsoft split today up.  All in all, I am the most excited about the Nintendo Wii.  To be able to use a controller in such a manner where it physically becomes the object the character uses in-game is truly immersive.  It's like playing a virtual-reality simulator, only instead of pushing a button, you actually have to swing a racket, throw a football, parry a sword thrust.  You can see how many people love games like Dance Dance Revolution, Guitar Hero, or (to some extent) Donkey Konga, where the controller goes out the window and you become the instrument/dancer.  It's a blast, especially for a party, so I really can't wait to see this Wii in action during the Expo this week.

Also, UNO is available on the Xbox Live Marketplace!  How freakin' awesome is that!  In fact, I'm downloading that onto my Xbox360 right now.

Oh yeah!  Big (and very obvious) news from Microsoft: Halo 3 was announced today, along with something that, if used correctly, could actually be pretty cool.  Bill Gates discussed what is called "Live Anywhere."  I like this idea.  Incorporating Windows Vista, Xbox360, and mobile handheld devices (like cell phones), you could theoretically play the same game on your PC, download it to your 360, and leave the house with it on your phone, all using the same save and information.  Also, there will be a standardized GamerTag across those three platforms.  If you don't know what a GamerTag is, here's mine, from Xbox.com:

There's my gamer picture, my GamerScore, what zone I prefer to play games (and helps me match up with similar players), and the last five games I have played on my account.  Microsoft wants to extend this beyond the 360 so that all that you do has an effect on how games are marketed and how the game tailors itself to your playing style on the fly.  I think it's a bold idea...if it works...or if they even use it for more than a few months.  We'll see.

I'm very excited about the Nintendo Wii, though.  Nothing's changing that!
