Last night

Best moment thus far:

Henry was sitting on my lap facing me. I had my hands kinda cradling his head and he was just sitting there, staring up at me. I was smiling down at him and singing some made-up song or another, and he started laughing. Not a giggle, not a coo ... a hearty, healthy, happy laugh. His little body was just shaking. I was torn between laughing myself and wanting to cry. The only way to describe hearing your child really laugh for the first time is phenomenal.

I am so incredibly blessed :)

In other news, he's getting stronger every day now. While Henry was lying on his back, Erik started to raise Henry's arms. He was able to keep his head somewhat steady and, with daddy's help, pull himself up into a standing position. Is this kid something, or what?

Amos celebrated this new development by puking all over the carpet last night. Although it was hours after this happened, I choose to believe that the puke was Amos' 'kudos!' to Henry. I must believe this in order to keep my sense of humour. Poor angelstoil was cleaning it up this morning (thank you!) so I can safely assume that Amos' congratulations went out sometime between 3am and 5:30am. Cats are cool.

So, do I have any other news not baby related? Hmm, let's see. I got out of the house yesterday (the first time in, like, a week). Of course, it was to get baby stuff from Shopko and food from Copps. However, I did get some Bright Auburn Blonde hair dye - should be fun. I had a dream last night that I dyed my hair and the roots turned blonde, the middle part turned red, and the ends turned black. Hopefully, this was not portentous ... But I figure since now I don't have to go to work, I can be a little more experimental with my locks. But knowing my history, my hair will look exactly the same after I dye it as it does now. Ah well, only time will tell.

Must go check on the sleeping monkey. Til later ...
