If intrested my poker bio started on May 11th,
Well, well, well...The poker god's finally decided not to short change the old Donkeyherder for once. (Knocking on wood furiously) Not that I'm rolling in dough just yet but I have that real solid feel to my game once again which I haven't had in probably over a year. To show for my efforts I have recorded 6 solid winning sessions in a row. I have cashed in 23/43 sng's = 53%. Which is pretty good considering a solid player will cash about 38-40% of the time. The players on Cake Poker have been terrible as ever, no disrespect we all start somewhere, but I do have a funny story. It was the 3rd hand in a $50 10 player sitingo and I was in the BB with JJ. The player first to act raised huge 160/20 blind. I shoved allin and he called with a K9 over 1000 chips LMAO!! The greatest part of the story was his screen name was "Quad Jacks" and of course... I flopped and rivered 2 jacks to make Quad Jacks and knock him out !!! LMAO. I think my main improvement to make success has been being able to spend more time figuring out some odds and stats. I found "Pokerstove" to be a pretty good tool for helping me decide when and where to make my shoves.
Before I forget I actually played a multi on the 14th and made Final Table!!! It was a $30 rebuy on Cake and had about 300 players. I was chip leader or close to for the majority of the last couple hours until we got down to 7 players and continually had 2 players to my left aggressively shoving allin over my raises forcing me to laydown a number of decent hands and chunks of chips. I decided to sit back and just wait for a good hand or wait for the blinds to raise into my allin range. I finally was around 12x and a10x stack shoved 1st to act after BB and I had 1010. I reshoved and was quickly called on my left. I was happy to see the 1st shover had KJ and the player behind me only had 88?? I flopped a 10 for trips but of course got runnered out with a Q and a 9 making the KJ hand a straight!!..............Sigh. Oh well. I woulda probably finished 1-3 had I won, but instead I finshed 6th for about $1,000. I wasn't too pissed since I won an allin earlier with JJ vs AQ after he flopped AQ for 2 pair and I rivered a Jack for trips!!! So I was happy to make final table.
I did get a couple trips to the beach to surf this week and we got Diego (Our baby) out in the sun and in the pool which was fun, he loves the water. Well time for bed. It's late for work, I gotta wake up in 5-6 hrs. for my real job. I hope to keep my solid trend, however, I know good runs are just that and must not get too cocky and slip into over loose mode. GL everyone. Questions and comments are appreciated. Donkeyherder
