jury duty
So I had to report for Jury Duty today, and pretty much waisted the day. I didn't remember that they have wifi in the jury room, otherwise I could have brought my laptop and been working while waiting. I did, however, bring my knitting and got about 6-7 inches added to the scarf!
So they showed the jury video, oh hey Lawrence it's the SAME ONE! Phillis Stein ..... and I remember that it's the same one I saw when I lived in Burlington county and did jury duty there. I'm guessing it's a standard video across the state. Although, they did have a custom opening shot of the Mercer County Court House.
So I got there just before 8:30 AM but it wasn't until 11:30 did they call us for a jury. My name got called along with 29 others. They sent everyone else to lunch. 10 minutes later, they sent us to lunch.
As we were walking to the elevator to head out I was chatting with a young man (somewhere between 18-20) named Eric. He was asking about The Mill Hill Saloon, which he said his Mom recommended. I told him that's were I normally ate while there and asked if I could join him. It was so nice to meet a young man with such nice maners! All I can say is that him Mother raised him right. He even paid for lunch!
After lunch we walked back and waited, again, until 2:00 PM when they released our original 30 plus about 20 or so more. Oh, well, at least I got more done on my scarf. I still need to call back each day this week to see if we are still needed.
