Maybe this explains it.

Ok, those few people who are reading this now know that I don't really update this thing too often. I've made it as easy as possible to do so: I've got a good client, it's one click away from opening so I can just write down any thoughts that enter my head. The usual result is to ignore it, uncommonly I'll post a quiz result and very rarely I'll make some asinine statement that I'm planning on getting back into LJ. So what is it this time? Well, no quiz yet and I've already hit the button, so here we are.

Actually, I think I've been approaching this thing in the wrong way lately. I've never known if this thing was really just an online public diary, a personal forum, or my own little soap box. I've been confused as to what this thing really is and I believe the confusion is expressed as shitty little quizzes here and there and several entries which were typed up but never posted. A diary always feels too self absorbed, as does a personal forum. I kind of like the soap box idea, as I rarely get a chance to just speak my mind with no interruptions. However, I've also learned that if I'm just left to myself to express an opinion, I have some pretty volatile ones and I can't always back them up.

So this is no promise to update more regularly. Don't get me wrong. Most likely this is another segue to the next 6 months or so of radio silence here at LJ. It was just a thought I had while studying for a test. If anyone has a preference for what I do here (journal or soapbox) just let me know.

Craig.
