Panel
Thanks to those of you who came to my panel last night. I had fun and actually got to NETWORK. I was also cornered by this guy who demanded I call up all the BILLIONAIRES (his emphasis) at Microsoft and gather them in a room and demand they give me money if they want film to continue. The dude was slightly drunk (or at least a natural slurrer) and seemed to think I wasn't doing my part in getting funding. He exclaimed that there were thousands of millionaires over there, and when he's riding his barge setting up fireworks all he sees are their houses. "Why don't you talk to Steve Ballmer?" he queried. "He's worth $14 Billion!" "Yes, I know," says I, "but he also doesn't read his own e-mail." This dude was insane. He pressed me for reasons why I didn't just march over to Microsoft and make everyone go to panels like these. I didn't even get to tell him that a lot of what he thought I should do would be illegal.
