... whispering too softly for the words to echo, "This vengeance is for you and all that have been killed before you."
Yesterday was reasonably okay. I got most of my stuff done before I went to bed, actually, then killed the day by taking an allergy pill. Problem with this is even the non-drowsy stuff knocks me on my butt. Me and antihistamines really don't get along very well. Sometimes, though, I can take one pill (instead of the two most tell people to take) and get some relief without becoming incapacitated. Apparently not with this stuff. :P
Did manage to finish the first round of Charms chapter 24 and decided to split it after all. The new chapter created by the second half will be REALLY short, but I'm hoping the shortness emphasizes how much the events in it affects Randi. My only concern is that it reads as a fight per chapter right now, and it has been compared to video game combat. Not sure if that's a step up or a step down from my rpg background. lol Hopefully I'll fix whatever is reminding people of video games. If not, hopefully an agent will love it enough to help em fix it later.
On the other hand, overall, I'm liking the novel better. Not completely out of the hate phase yet, but in this case I'm not sure that's even possible. Unlike epic fantasy, urban is a bit out of my comfort zone, and I'm doing a few things that are uncommon for the genre. With epic, I can compare it to what I've read and say, "Yea, that fits!" With this novel, not so much, and I think that's influencing my ability to love it as much as I loved Assassin's when it was done. That and epic is my first love anyway, and I mourn it's lack of attention and marketability now days.
Anyway, counts....

Keeping my to do list on the smaller side still (and will for the next couple of weeks, at least). Yesterday wasn't too bad with the kids and Chef home, but it didn't feel like a Monday to me either. Probably because I'm used to Chef being class all day Monday, so him being home kind of threw me off. The next couple of weeks are going to be so weird. Then January will come and people will be out the door and that will be weird. lol

One bit of good news before I head off to forage for breakfast: we made arrangements to take care of the rent. Won't be paid until January 10th or so, but hopefully it'll keep us with a roof over our head without us having to land in a hotel. Right now, it's all we can do.
Okay, I didn't eat a lot at dinner (as good as it was, I just wasn't that hungry, not sure why), so I'm getting hungry early tonight. Off to get food and take care of MF and whatever before I dig into editing and beta reading and revising.
