...flooding her veins. It stripped away her concealing magic, gathered where she was most injured, and reduced the pain.
So, not a fantastic week. Not a bad week, but not the best week I've had either. Last week I mentioned I was feeling slow and sluggish. It didn't read like SAD to me, which is more than just being tired. SAD is so draining that all motivation is gone and all I want to do is sleep. I'm easily depressed (and I'm sure some would argue that I'm depressed even when I don't realize it), and my mood in general is down even when I'm not. I can function, fortunately, I just don't WANT to. The tired that hit me towards the end of last week wasn't as draining, but it wasn't a normal, just need some sleep tired either. I wanted to do stuff, just didn't have the energy a lot of the time.
It finally struck me in the middle of this week that it was possibly the return of my anemia. It's been a long time since I've felt that kind of tired, so it wasn't immediately apparent to me. But I'd been off the hormones that keep me from bleeding to death for a couple of weeks, so my body was probably preparing to do all that womanly stuff. Womanly stuff for me = VERY bad. As in go to the hospital bad. Once I suspected the problem, I doubled up my iron pills. Since I started that and have gotten back on the hormones, I've been feeling better. Will stay on the extra iron until the end of this week, and should be pretty much back up to par. I hope.
The end result, though, was a lot less energy to do anything, slower thinking, and a lot of dozing (not flat out sleeping for hours upon hours like with SAD, just napping an hour or two, then being fine for another few hours; the differences in tired sound strange to someone who doesn't have these problems, but trust me, they exist). And a lot less productivity.
Which is fine. End of the year seems to be a bad time to expect to get a lot done anyway. lol
I've had a spectacular year word count and productivity wise, so I think I can afford some not so productive time at the moment. Quite a few things were misses this year, but then this year sucked so bad, I am thankful for everything I DID manage. And a lot of what I did wouldn't have even been attempted without making them my goals for the year. You only fail when you don't try.
Here's how the trying is going so far....

Like I said above, not expecting much more this year. I will finish Charms (or at least that's the plan) so I can prep it for betas in January (
still looking!), but I'm honestly not pushing on much else. First, for most of them it's pretty much too late now. If I missed a month or two of updates this summer, that pretty much tanked more than a few of them. Second, Chef is mostly off this week and next. He is looking for odd jobs to do to earn some extra money while the catering company is "down", but that doesn't mean he'll be out from underfoot. The good news about that is that he'll be doing most of the cooking. I've missed him making dinner, and when he gets into the jobs he wants next year, I'll be back to missing it. Gotta appreciate it while I can. ;) Third, the kids are now out of school for the next two weeks. They will definitely be underfoot even when Chef isn't. Long and short of it, lots of interruptions and less likely to get through as much as I usually try to manage.
As a result, goals for the next 2 weeks are going to be short lists.
