Late last night, I received the following email:
I'm accepting "Into Stone" as a reprint, and I'll publish it in the September 2007 issue of Aoife's Kiss. Nicely done--a blend of power and vulnerability.
Pasted below is the contract for your story. To accept, simply reply to this e-mail and say you accept. And if you have any questions, please ask.
Regards,
Tyree Campbell

Woooo! Go me! ;)
The date of publication was what I needed to confirm before I passed this along -- seems Aoife's is getting rather popular lately! I'm looking at "Stone" being off the market-go-round for about 18 months, and the market doesn't pay much (though, this will be my first physical magazine, so that's preeeeetty cool in my book!). However, as another friend of mine says, reprint sales are pretty much all gravy anyway.
And see that wonderful, short sentence after the acceptance? I don't think I've ever had an editor complement the piece he's accepting like before. THAT is way cool!
Third novel drafted, a short story sale with a wonderful compliment included, over 10k in 2 days . . . I'm feeling preeetty good right now! :D
