a/n: For the femslash100challenge word "fragment", which I have really liked a lot.
She feels like someone that Morgana should know, should remember. She feels like someone that Morgana knew, years ago, before she was the king’s precious, beloved ward; before her father was killed, and her life uprooted to be moved to the castle of Camelot.
There’s no logical explanation for why Morgana feels like she knows the woman with the blond hair and the suspicious eyes - not a single reason for why she should feel such a connection, such safety, with Morgause. But Morgana learns more and more everyday that there isn’t a logical explanation for everything - sometimes, things just are, and that’s nothing to warrant punishment - and she doesn’t take unkindly to the sensation of lingering memories.
She only opens up to Morgause - accepts her gift; treats her amiably; remembers her fondly when she’s gone - and bases her actions on the faint assumption that if she doesn’t seek out the reason, then it will come to her soon enough.
