Brittany smiles at her, because Brittany doesn’t mind. Brittany’s okay with…this, and really, if Brittany’s happy, then Santana should be, too. Because that’s the way that it’s always been with the two of them.
But it’s not high school anymore, and they can’t just be those Cheerios that fuck sometimes. And Santana’s glad for that - she doesn’t want that. She wants to be with Brittany the way that other people can be; she wants them to be together and happy and in love, not just best friends who are content most of the time and always love one another even when they’re dating different people. (Especially when they’re dating different people.)
Santana’s tired of other girlfriends. She’s tired of being “okay”. She’s tired of the fact that her Facebook status still doesn’t say In a relationship with…Brittany Pierce.
Except Brittany doesn’t seem to mind it, so maybe Santana shouldn’t, either.
