angels never came down there's no one here they wanna hang around

It does rain, after all.

Eventually -- or, well, it doesn't take too long, but Elizabeth's not really keeping track -- Nathan leads her off the beaten track to where he's found a tiny, lovely little bed and breakfast. Towels and warm blankets and soft, goosedown beds...

She calls Heidi while getting her sensible walking shoes off, to let her know of the change in plans, and chatters animatedly at her girls when they come to the phone. One particular observation (out of the mouthes of babes, honestly) makes her laugh and blush and firmly agree; she tells them she loves them and that she'll see them tomorrow and then she turns her phone off, and leaves it that way.

Her hair is still damp, and she decides not to care. Nathan is right here, and everything worrying her will still be there to be dealt with tomorrow. Or the next day, she thinks, vaguely, and then wriggles closer to disagree thoroughly with absolutely everything until it's patently absurd, just for the sake of it.

Oddly, it makes her feel better, especially when she makes him laugh.
