The Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense is, in some universes, still sort of kind of quasi a little bit secret. This means that they like very much to keep track of their agents and the people connected with them, especially when they've just come bounding in from hell dimensions carrying god knows what diseases or terrible demon

Along with this letter, please find a large basket of fruit and chocolates for yourselves and another one for the patients. They need cheering up and you all deserve a thank-you for your help. Also, there should be a Nintendo and some games coming in the mail.
Once it is possible and safe for all parties, I would appreciate an opportunity to visit with your patients.
Yours,
Hermes.

And speaking of people who would cause large explosions if called by those names, Liz is actually awake this time! They woke her up to feed her, which was something she looked forward to the tiniest bit until said food turned out to include peas. Insert hospital food joke here.

Hermes peers into Liz's room and waves a little. "Hullo! I brought jam. Hestia made it."
Reply
"Oh, Hermes...it's so good to see you." She holds her arms out, a wide, effusive gesture that's only not ridiculous because come on, she's been in hell for two months.

"It's so good to see you too. Missed you horribly."

She looks sheepishly down at her hands. "It's really hard. A lot of the time. There's so...so much. I've, uh. Been sleeping a lot."
Reply
"I'm always honest, and so I'm going to be honest with you, I don't know what to say or do, so, umm, I'll listen and do what you say, okay? I'll even wear stupid hats, if I have to. Or sing, or dance, but those'd make you worse, I'm really, really awful at singing."

Been home for 48 hours, asking favors of gods. Excellent.

He gets quieter and serious again, "Yes, Liz. When you're ready to ask, I'll listen. Okay? I like you and, well, to make a long story short, Henry is a hero under my auspices now, so, umm, you're all kinda, well, very, very extended family."

She squeezes his hand and smiles at him. "Maybe now you could just let me look at you though. I thought I'd never see anything beautiful again."

Hermes is going to blush, giggle and be all shades of pleased and embarrassed. "I knew it! You only want me for my devastatingly handsome good looks. I'm hurt! What about me as a person, don't you care that I love to make plastic canvas toilet paper covers? What about my 'Precious Moments' figurine collection?"
He shudders and holds her hand. "...I don't think I can keep that up without being ill or making one of us diabetic."

She sobers quickly enough, lifting her other hand for Hermes-headscritches, because clearly he has earned them. "About that, it not happening again. Is that something you could really do? I mean, could you protect us? If you could do that, I--well. There aren't many things I wouldn't do to make that happen."

"When I made Henry a hero under my auspices, it means that I've bound myself to him and his Household. Of course I'll protect you. He's my hero and it means that if any other god or thing pretending to be a god wants to take him, they need to go through me and my allies."

There is a lot of hugging now, even though it hurts her ribs. Who needs those?
"What can I do for you? I mean...a lamb? Wine? Do you want any small cities incinerated?"
Not that she could do that right now.
