I've gotten a few responses to my e-mail from the various teachers from my program. The relevant bits are below -- generally, if they indicate that they are a member of a minority, they are. If not, they are white. And yes, this is a biased sample of those who cared enough to respond. Still.

I am reminded why I love these people so damn much.

Things are still insane. Did manage to get one kid really good though. Kids are no longer allowed to use the bathroom during my class due to abuse of privillege, but one begged me, citing female problems, so I let her. It's been one of those days. I got extremely frustrated with my Year 9s because we spent yet another period with them not listening to a word I say, and complaining they were bored. At 7:00 this morning, I was on the phone interviewing for a job. At 10:00 this morning, I had it.
