I got my second essay returned to me in College on Monday. Another A! I also got my workbook back for my Library 10 college class. Another A! College is much easier than high school. Lol.
It's a bit startling how much interest in food I've lost. I suppose it's because I've had so much homework, but lately I've only been eating once a day, usually after I get home from school. I've been drinking a lot of Arizona tea, which my mom has been obligingly buying me because even she's becoming sympathetic towards the lack of free time I have. Usually when I have free time, I sleep, because I always have trouble sleeping at night. Too many random thoughts rushing through my head. Lol.
I'm eating clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl from Erik's Deli...yummy.
We're having Mock Presidential Election Debates in the Mello Center on Thursday...I'm the 2nd period Republican candidate. No, we didn't get to choose which party we were. We drew papers from a hat and if it said D, you were a Democrat, or you were a Republican if it said R. Then the class divided into the party they received and each side chose a president. And yeah...I got chosen. So, in a sense, I'm Bush. Lol. I get to be on stage in front of an audience with my opponent (Kenny Martinez -- Democrat) and give an opening speech, get asked questions and answer them in a 2-minute time limit according to Bush's point of view, watch my opponent get asked questions, and then have the opportunity for a 60 second rebuttal. Which means I have to have a great amount of knowledge on Bush's stand on all of the issues, and some dirt on Kerry.
The only thing I don't like is that Kenny's nervous as hell. I'm not one to get nervous with things like this -- I just don't like the attention. But what's really bothering me is that I don't feel the teacher is really doing a good job support-wise when we are practicing. Kenny goes up in front of the class, stumbles on something, and everyone laughs. And the teacher doesn't say anything. She even joins in the laughter herself a lot of the time, which makes Kenny even more nervous. Which makes him mess up even more. The teacher's very critical to the subject matter of our speeches and the way we present ourselves, which is good, but she shows no support, even to those who really need it. If we present our speeches again tomorrow, I'm going to mention my thoughts to her. This isn't an easy assigment, and even though I don't think I'll have a problem with it, I don't want Kenny to suffer absolute humiliation of faltering in front of a large audience who are going to be judging his every move and rating him on a ballot.
My idea for my costume is almost complete. I'm going to have to get up extremely early that Friday morning before school so I can begin drawing on myself. I'll bring a camera to school to make sure I get some pictures that I'll be able to post...
I've also found out that Laersul is a bit of a wimp when it comes to weather. Lol. It's been raining here for the past few days, but the rain stopped sometime in the afternoon for a while. I went and walked down the street with Laersul, and he started shivering in my arms from the cold! That cat needs a refund on his fur. Although I'm sure he was just doing it so he could snuggle under my sweater...which is not as easy as it used to be since he's as big as the rest of the cats now, and he's going to get bigger. He's going to be the biggest of all of our cats.
This is why it's not good to leave macaroni and cheese unattended.
