“What are you getting out of all this?” Sesshoumaru asked once again, while the two were sprawled out on his couch. The weather was worse today than it had been the night before. Sesshoumaru was kind enough to let her stay as long as needed.
“Nothing really, maybe the chance to prove my sister wrong about you.”
“Hnn. And that is enough?”
Kagome rolled her eyes. “Can’t you ever just say ‘thank you, Kagome, for spending your holiday with me?’ and leave it at that?”
“That would imply I actually cared.” He snidely replied.
“Oh give it up. You know you love me.”
Sesshoumaru didn’t respond, but when she stuck her tongue out at him, he had to wonder if maybe he was starting to.

Kagome glanced around the room, basking in the nakedness of it all. There was no color, no design, no anything really. “You truly need to add some color to this place. Don’t you have any decorations?”
“I do not decorate.” He huffed and went back to reading his paper.
“But I do! Now, if I were decorations where would I hide?” Disappearing from his sight, he heard her squeal in delight when she found them hiding in a closet.
“Do not break anything.” He warned.
She gave him a heartwarming smile “You sly dog. These were way too easy to find. You must have had some reason to leave them out.” Turning to the task at hand, Kagome failed to notice Sesshoumaru’s eyes following her, and the smile that adorned his face at seeing how at home she’d made herself.
