Kagome had to admit, despite the circumstances, Sesshoumaru was actually good company. Granted he didn’t speak much and would send menacing glares her way at every question she asked, he took care of her. Due to her extended time being earth bound, she had to rest constantly. He stopped without arguments, always near a spring should she want to bathe. When she was hungry he would hunt. And when she really needed to speak with him he answered, in the shortest way possible. She could almost mistake his behavior as kindness.
“Sesshoumaru,” Kagome called out, bored again.
“Hn.” Was his low response. There was no harshness or agitation in his tone. So she continued.
“We’ll have to rest soon. I’m starting to feel weak again.”
“Why do you get so weak Kagome?” Sango asked, continuing to follow a considerable distance from the demon and angel.
“My body isn’t ready to stay earth bound so long, I’m not strong enough yet,” Kagome admitted disappointed at the fact.
She estimated she could make it till nightfall, until Sesshoumaru stopped.
“What are you-”
“You will rest.” Sesshoumaru interrupted her question. Before she could speak he added, “Find something that will increase your strength.”
