They shared a silent glance across the clearing. Wordlessly both took their positions, raising their weapons. Determination stood clearly on the young woman´s face, her stance was tense.
The inu gave her a slight nod, his eyes softened unbeknown to the beings surrounding her. Seconds later his face was once more trained in his trademark, expressionless mask.
The miko closed her eyes. Metal clashed against metal as brother fought brother. She knew he would not kill the younger, but still it hurt.
All she wanted was finally being able to run openly into the arms of her love.
