Her cherry lips parted and her breath was caught in her throat, as she could not glance away from the man standing in front of her. From the way he was looking at her and from the words he had spoken he clearly believed he knew her. She on the other hand, had no clue who he was. As a matter of fact, she didn’t know where she was.

All she could remember was being pulled…

She finally tore her eyes away from him only to peek left and right. Wherever she was, she didn’t think she was in Tokyo anymore…

Sesshomaru arched an eyebrow, her confusion puzzling him. It had to be here; the scent was exactly the same. Hadn’t she claimed she would return? Whoever was standing in front of him could not be her. She had been well mannered, polite, refined… this woman was distasteful, disgraceful and obscene! The way she was dressed was enough for him to pull his glance away.

Yet this was no mistake.

Despite the outrageous differences, the resemblances were striking. The dark ebony locks, the shiny blue eyes and that twinkle he could not explain.

“Who are you?”

She raised her eyebrows; did he just ask her who she was? He was the one who had tumbled upon her, speaking as if he knew her! His air of confidence transpired through his posture alone, but to be honest he didn’t inspire her respect. Long silver locks, strange markings and that terribly heavy looking attire. Was this some sort of costume?

“This Sesshomaru asked you a question.”

This Sesshomaru? “I’m Kagome,” she finally answered, hoping his weirdness would end soon. “Where am I?” Usually she wouldn’t ask a strange, weird person like him that question but from the look of it, he was her only option. That or that tree very, very far away. However, at the moment she was getting the feeling it would be easier to obtain an answer from the tree.

His annoyance grew a bit at her ignorance. Over the years that had passed, he had learned much about the jewel and knew an idiot could not handle it. His only concern at the moment was that she was too foolishly stupid to take over the responsibility. Then again, he had been nothing more than a child when she had come to him.

She had been there, lurking in the shadows for years, following his every movements, keeping up with the events of his life. She had been human, somewhat annoying yet a required presence. How could someone as tolerable as her could have returned as someone so irritating?

Nonetheless, he was not there to judge the mental capacity of the new bearer. He had only promised to carry this curse item until she could retrieve it again. Despite the obvious lack of intelligence, this was her. Completely ignoring her question, he walked in her direction. As soon as he took a few steps forward, he noticed her taking a defensive state. Perhaps she was not as foolish as he thought.

He stretched his hand forward as she frowned, his fingers tightly wrapped around the pink jewel. He remained in that position for a few seconds while she never moved from hers either. Understanding that unless he provided her with instructions she would not grab the cursed jewel, he spoke again. “Your hand.”

Even though she did not feel perfectly safe, Kagome stretched out her hand nonetheless. Nearly immediately she felt a weight drop on her palm and almost gasped. Once he removed his hand out of the way, she found herself looking at a circular, pink pearl. “What is this?”

“It is yours,” was all he said prior to turning around.

Kagome watched him walk away, her mouth opened. “Wait! What is this? Why are you giving me this?”

“It is yours,” he repeated, almost in a whisper.

No long wishing to bother himself with this obviously pale copy of the original, he glided through the air, increasing the distance between them. To say he was disappointed was not describing it accurately enough. For hundred of years he had waited for her to come back and had hoped… for something. However this entire experience had proven to be unsatisfactory.

Anger took hold of Kagome’s heart, as she knit her eyebrows together. Did he just leave her alone? Determination was obvious on her face as she closed her hand upon the object he had given her and began to run after him. Of course, she had not expected him to be so fast. Just how in the world was he doing that?

As she began to run faster, everything around her became nothing more than trees and she kept venturing in the unknown territories nonetheless. “HEY!” she screamed, unsure what to call him. He had referred himself to this Sesshomaru. Perhaps that was his name. He had quite a royal air to himself, along with quite mesmerizing features.

She kept going for a while, until she could do nothing but stop. She gulped as she glanced around, not recognizing anything around her. She could not even remember the way she had come from! As she sighed out heavily, her bottom lip quivered. Kagome turned left and right, her heart beating much faster than it should.

It was then, as she spun around, that a flicker of silver caught her eye. There he was! Without thinking, she ran in direction of the glimpse of silver, fully intending to obtain her answers. It only took her a few seconds before she stood in front of the tree where he was hiding. Satisfaction showing on her face, she rushed to unmask him.

However what she found was not what she expected.

Instead of the imposing breathtaking man from earlier, she found herself staring at similar, less noble version of him… with dog ears?

Her eyes widened as her body temperature rose as if she was about to pass out.

Where was she?
