Why is there no real lesbian erotica? I've read NY Times best-sellers with more sex than some of the stories in the "best lesbian erotic of __year"
Now I'm not against stories with plot involving sex, but if I wanted plot and then some softcore nonsense involving "perfect pink mounds" I would be reading a romance, not a damned expensive book of so-called erotica.
Lea asked for help on the lesbian sex tips LJ community, and everyone over there seemed to have the same problem. We did get directed to some stuff at Amazon, but who wants to shell out money for stuff without at least being able to flip through it? Reading the reviews on some of the books make me think that people apparently do want lots of plot with their sex, which I just can't understand. The purpose of erotica is to get you a bit hot and bothered, not to present you with freakin' character development over 15 pages so that your horniness is lost in a "warm, loving, embrace." Erotica is about sex and/or fucking NOT making love. If I wanted to make love, I wouldn't need erotica, now would I?
I think there needs to be lesbian erotica written by straight people; apparently they know how to write sex and not muck it up with too many words.
This was probably waaaay TMI, but if the subject didn't clue you in I'm not sure why you're on my friends list and thus have no sympathy for you.
