I feel like I've been typing since I settled in my pyjamas. Uhm.
Exam was good. I knew enough to convince the prof that I did the readings. lol
Train trip was good. Heavy bags, but people are always super courteous when I travel so it feels good. Downside is that I was sitting near some frosh girls who knew each other so they gossiped really loudly and annoyingly. One of them said "So I started dating him, and I cheated on him twice in one week." Ugh. Girls like them make me sick. They were totally lost finding their seats (they unfortunately got in the wrong car), and the 80 year old PhD candidate sitting next to me goes "Pfft. Frosh." LOL!! I love old women. The girl sitting across from me was a polite psych student.
Oh, also.
Jacob Mantle was on my train. lol He's the ASUS president that made the "islamophobic" comment on Facebook and is now getting impeached. His comment wasn't islamophobic, it was more insensitive and it was kind of going into the realm of his private life (who takes Facebook that seriously?). But either way. He was on my train. And he was super polite and helped me get my really heavy bags onto the top shelf of the luggage racks.
Union Station was EMPTY. Shockingly so. I had time to go to Second Cup and get an apple cider. In order to get to the shopping area of Union Station, I have to go outside, down a slope, and back inside. The first set of doors are automatic, the second aren't. Going both in and out of the second set of doors, there was always a very kind man who would open the door for me when he wasn't going in himself. I love it when that happens, just being it's nice to know that that kind of courtesy isn't lost on people.
I was sitting by my departure sign alone. Hardly anyone is in Union, except one guy standing in line across the departure hall. Some creep guy comes up to me and explains that he lost his train ticket while drunk last night and he needed change to buy a new one. Normally I would have said "sorry, no change," but I was practically alone and I am terrified of strangers, so I gave him $1 because I didn't know what he would do to get money from me. He said "if you're in the Christmas spirit, you'll give me all your change." I laughed awkwardly and he left. The guy across the departure hall said he's been doing that to a ton of people, and he told the VIA Rail staff and they called security. I had to give a description.
Also, some guy at the train station at home saw me struggling with my many bags down the stairs, and he was like "I'm going to help you. Do you mind if I take this bag? I'm going to carry this for you, is that okay?" and he took one of my bags and carried it down the stairs. He said "it just looked like you were having some trouble." I thanked him for his help. I love people sometimes.
Neal got me, he had cold pizza with him which I munched on in the car. It's good to be home.
Oh yeah, I started The Timetraveler's Wife which I love so far. The cover made me think of different character types (more polite, old fashioned people), so I was surprised by Henry's narration. I like it. I'm gonna read more than go to sleep.
