This is what we call the direct approach.

Hi. My name is Renée Ritchie, and I'd like to get my foot in the door writing for the role-playing game industry. While I would like to focus on the pencil-and-paper roleplaying games, I am also open to writing for the video game industry. Of course, these are not the only two avenues I would like to pursue in my writing career, but these are areas of definite interest.

As far as previously published work, I have had a short play published in 2004 edition of Mosaic (the annual art and literary journal from the University of California, Riverside) entitled "A Likely Story, Mr. Jones..." A later draft of this play, extended and re-titled "Bloodletting," was performed as part of UCR Playworks, a free program of one-act plays from up-and-coming student writers.

I have no preference as far as setting: horror, fantasy, science fiction, urban, you name it. I am currently working on a portfolio that will showcase my talents in said settings not only in a fiction format, but also for the stage and screen.
