I have been fortunate enough never to have had to buy clothes for my children. Between a wonderful mother-in-law who feels it is her life's duty to provide new clothes for her children and lots of mom friends who know our situation and are happy to unload their kids' old clothes on us unasked, we have always had everything we need.

I save anything with a pretty picture on it. It can be food packaging, magazines, old books, greeting cards, advertisements, posters - you name it! I love to save these images and use them for other things. They are excellent for scrapbooking, collage, illuminating a journal or diary, or making your own gift cards. While visiting my grandmother in Texas, I enjoyed the rare treat of swinging on the old porch swing while nursing my baby and listening to the beautiful silverware wind chimes her husband had made for her. It had such a pretty sound. I'd love to have one of my own.
